stantly goes out at four, the Commercial People here, as well as
others, often experience great Inconveniencies from his Irregularity.
We therefore take the Liberty to request that you will give such
Directions in this Matter as you may judge proper. We should be glad
that the Post could always remain in this City, at least four Hours, as
we are some Times disappointed in forwarding Dispatches of Con-
sequence, by his going out so soon after his Arrival.

[Council to His Excy Govr Clinton of New York]

We have the Honor of your Excellency's Letter of the 4th Ins'
enclosing the Resolutions of the Legislature of New York, of the 20th
& 21st ulto, which shall be laid before the Assembly of this State, at
their first Meeting.

Monday 2d September 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Benedict Spalding
eight Pounds, fourteen shillings — Richard Jarboe six Pounds, twelve
shillings, Isaac Clark three Pounds, twelve shillings — Francis Kirby
one Pound, twelve shillings, Anthony Baxter six Pounds — John
Shadrick twelve Pounds twelve shillings — Thomas Gibbins one
Pound sixteen shillings — John Miles Duvall & Robert Nugent
Twenty seven Pounds, ten shillings, Samuel Jenifer nine Pounds,
sixteen shillings — Thomas Duffey ten Pounds, fifteen shillings —
Edward Hambleton seven Pounds, eight shillings and four pence —
and Charles Cooke [nine pounds, twelve shillings and three pence]
specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State
per Accounts passed. —

Tuesday 3d September 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Mrs Mary
Dulany one hundred and forty three Pounds, three shillings & ten
Pence Specie agreeable to the "Act to adjust the Debts due from this
State " per Account passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to [negro] William Minskie four
Pounds specie due him per Account passed. —
That the Commissary of Provisions pay to Samuel T. Wright
Esqr three hundred & thirty three Bushels of Wheat and one third
of a Bushel for a Quarter's Salary on Account.

Baltimore hath made Oath that he has good cause to suspect & doth
