mand of Capt. Walley, completely manned and well equipped, to be
placed under your Direction. As we have a very high Opinion of
Capt Walley's Capacity, Bravery and Zeal, we take the Liberty of
recommending him to your Attention. He is well acquainted with
the Bay, and the Places where the Piccaroons of the Enemy usually
resort, and is well qualified to execute any Orders you may honor
him with. It is not proposed that the Barges shall return 'til January
next, unless Circumstances should render their Stay unnecessary.
We beg Leave to enclose the Copy of Capt Walley's Instructions and
have the Honor to be &ca.

Mr William Paca having undertaken to establish and superintend a
Magazine of Provisions at Snow Hill, for the Supply of the Barges ;
we request you will furnish to his Order, or the Order of the Person
appointed by him to manage the Magazine, such Articles of Provi-
sions as may be required.

Friday 2d August 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Thomas Beatty
Esqr fifty seven Pounds, four shillings and eleven Pence of the Bills
emitted under the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca to be
delivered over as follows, thirty four Pounds, three shillings and four
pence to Capt John Shields & Guard two Pounds, eight shillings to
Peter Leaply, nine Pounds, three shillings and four Pence to Lodwick
Launian, four Pounds, five shillings to John Miller, three Pounds to
John R.odgers and four Pounds, five shillings and three pence to
Barker Garrett due them per Accts passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Atwood one hundred and
four Pounds, eleven shillings and six Pence of the same Emission, six
Pounds, ten shillings thereof to be by him retained, & the residue to
be delivered over as follows, six Pounds two shillings to George
Beane, five Pounds, seventeen shillings & six pence to William Beane,
one Pound twelve shillings to Austin Massey, four Pounds, ten
shillings to Thomas Clarke, ten Pounds three shillings to William
Locker, eight Pounds, seven shillings & six Pence to Moses Davis,
four Pounds, one shilling to Robert Beane, seven pounds eight
shillings & six Pence to William Sanner, six Pounds, seventeen
shillings to Stephen Milburn, one Pound, fifteen shillings to Jona
Evans, tour Pounds to John Beane junr, twelve shillings to John
Tallen, five Pounds, ten shillings to Richard Milburn, four Pounds,
