Saturday 8th June 1782
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Thomas Wil-
liams Esqr thirty nine Pounds, nineteen shillings and nine pence and
Thomas James ninety one Pounds and nine Pence specie agreeable
to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State per Accts adjusted &
passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Williams Esqr ninety two
Pounds nineteen shillings & ten pence of the Bills emitted under the
Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca to be delivd over as
follows, fifteen shillings & six pence to Richd Higgins, ten Pounds,
thirteen shillings & nine pence to Walter Bowie, sixty two Pounds
fourteen shillings & five pence to Humphry Belt, nine Pounds, eight
shillings & three pence to Mrs Lansdale, four pounds, one shilling &
seven Pence to Edward Clarkson four Pounds six shillings and four
Pence to Bartholomew Bromley and one Pound to William Beanes
due them per Accounts & Certificates adjusted and passed.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Thomas Hunter
six Pounds, five shillings and Phelemon Stichbury Twenty four
Pounds of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of Bills of
Credit &ca due them per Accounts passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Archibald Job, Esqr one hundred
and ninety nine Pounds, fifteen shillings of the same Emission to be
paid over to Henry Hollingsworth & others due them on Accounts
passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Courts twenty one Pounds
of the same Emission to be delivered over to Henry Butler and Wil-
liam Lovelin each ten Pounds ten shillings per Accounts passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Courts fourteen Pounds
ten shillings and four Pence of the same Emission due on a Certificate
issued agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State.
An Order on the Commissary of Provisions of the 2d of March
last in favor of Thomas Johnson junr for two hundred Bushels of
Wheat due him for a quarter's Salary to the 31 January is returned
unpaid.

[Council to Honble The General Assembly]
The Act of October Session 1780 to compel the Payment of the
Taxes in Somerset county, directs that the Expence attending the
Collection, should be paid by the Persons in that County, who refused
to pay their Taxes. It appears by the Certificate of the Lieutenant,
Field Officers, and Commissioners of the Tax for the said County,
which we have the Honor to enclose, that they could not, from the
Nature of the Case, procure sufficient Testimony to charge any
