[Council to The Officer commanding at Elizabeth Town or on the
Lines nearest the Enemy]

We request you will use your Influence in getting Peter Gardner,
a Subject of this State, who was taken at Sea a few Weeks ago and
is now a Prisoner in New York, exchanged for John Kelly, a British
Prisoner taken in the Chesapeake Bay, whom Michael Gardner, the
Father of Peter Gardner, has in his Care.

Monday 27th May 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo Luke Mar-
bury twelve hundred and fifty Pounds, four shillings and three
Pence specie agreeable to the "Act to adjust the Debts due from this
State " directed to be paid him by the " additional supplement to an
Act to settle and adjust the Accounts of the Troops of this State
in the service of the United States &ca " passed last Session, Certifi-
cates to bear Date 22d January 1782.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Roland twelve Pounds
eighteen shillings of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission
of Bills of Credit &ca to be delivered over to James Scott due him
on Account passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Goldsborough Esqr forty
four Pounds, eight shillings and eleven pence of the same Emission
per Certificate passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Needles sixty two Pounds,
five shillings, and seven pence of the same Emission p Accts passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut John Levasche four Pounds,
six shillings of the same Emission for Stores for April and May
on Account.

pence of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of Bills
of Credit &ca due him on a Certificate issued agreeable to the Act to
adjust the Debts due from this State.
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Beatty Esqr one hundred
and forty five Pounds and five Pence of the same Emission to be
delivered over as follows, thirty six Pounds, seventeen shillings and
eight Pence to Jacob Schnider, twenty one Pounds, two shillings and
one Penny to Lawrence Shankle, twenty one Pounds, two shillings
and seven Pence to Jacob Smith, thirty four Pounds, four shillings
and eleven Pence to Michael Fout, and thirty one Pounds, thirteen
shillings and two pence to Frederick Reacough due them per Certifi-
cates settled & passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Mills thirteen Pounds and
six Pence, Hannah May, Alice Redmond & Mary Connolly, each, one
