Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt James Bruff
fifteen Pounds the Balance of the 30£ advanced agreeable to a Reso-
lution of this Board of the 22d July 1781, thirty eight Pounds, seven
shillings and ten Pence for Stores to the 1st Instant and also thirty
Pounds of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of
Bills of Credit &ca in lieu of a suit of Cloaths and four Shirts for the
Present year on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Robert Denny thirteen
Pounds, ten shillings Specie to be delivered to Capt James Bruff part
of the thirty Pounds directed to be advanced by the Act relating to
Public Creditors and to be accounted for.

[Council to Honble The General Assembly]
We beg Leave to submit the Subject of the enclosed Letter from
the Executive of Virginia, to your Consideration. If the Conduct
of the assessor and Naval Officer is justified by the thirty fourth and
thirty fifth Sections of the Act to raise Supplies for the Year seven-
teen hundred and eighty two, the Honorable General Assembly alone
have the Power of affording the Redress Governor Harrison requires.

Wednesday 22d May 1782
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to James Baldwin
eleven Pounds, seventeen shillings and six pence — Thomas Lewis
eleven Pounds five shillings, and John White eleven Pounds, thirteen
shillings and four Pence of the Bills emitted under the Act for the
Emission of Bills of Credit &ca due them per Accounts passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Hanson Harrison Esqr
ninety one Pounds, thirteen shillings and four pence specie for the
Balance of his last Years Salary per Account passed.

Thursday 23d May 1782
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo Samuel
Smith eighteen hhds. of Tobacco in lieu of ten Notes received by
him some time ago which he will deliver corresponding in the Quan-
tities, they were not to be found in the warehouses and supposed to
be lost or stolen.
That the said Treasurer pay to Colo William Fitzhugh six hundred
and seventy nine Pounds, seventeen shillings and two Pence three
farthings Specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts due from
this State per Certificates adjusted and passed the 22d Instant.
That the said Treasurer pay to the Reverend John Gordon ninety
Pounds, two shillings & nine Pence Specie agreeable to the Act
aforesaid per Certificates adjusted and Passed.
