[Council to The Registers of the Land Office on the Eastern and
Western Shore]

The Time allowed by Act of Assembly, to Persons to compound
on their Certificates, will expire this Day, and as it is highly probable
that Applications will be made for Warrants, for not compounding,
we request you to defer issuing Such Warrants, as there are a great
many Certificates mislaid and others erroneous and some People may
not have had Notice of the Act until the General Assembly take this
Matter into Consideration, which will be submitted to them as soon
as they assemble. We think it will be proper for you to note the
Applications made, the respective Times, and by whom, that the
Parties may have every Benefit of them, if the Assembly should not
prolong the Time.
