That the said Treasurer pay to William Hyde eighty six pounds
eleven shillings and five pence of the same Emission per Certificates
adjusted and passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Samuel Thomas 3rd sixty two
pounds, thirteen shillings and one penny of the same Emission due
on Certificates issued agreeable to the "Act to adjust the Debts due
from this State " and also the further sum of eighty five pounds, two
shillings and five of the same Bills to be delivered over as follows,
fifty one pounds, one Shilling and ten pence to John Thomas and
thirty four pounds and seven pence to John Pancost due them per
Accounts passed —
That the Commissary of Provisions deliver to Hercules Courtenay
one thousand four hundred and eighty five and a half bushels of
Wheat in Montgomery County in payment of a Certificate issued
agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State for two
hundred and ninety seven pounds two shillings and two pence with
Interest
Commission issued to Edward Downes appointed Coronor in
Queen Anns County. —

[Council to Honble Intendant.]

The State owes Hercules Courtenay 486.10.0, which comes under
the Clause in the Supply Bill, appropriating £20,000 in Specifics for
the Discharge of Debts of a particular Description. We have referred
Mr Courtenay to you, to receive one Half his Claim

[Council to Capt. John Reid.]

William Davis of your Company, sets forth in a Petition to this
Board that he had your Promise for his Discharge, upon his pro-
curing another sufficient Man to serve in his Room. That he accord-
ingly procured at his own Expence, a James Dunsworth, to whom
he agreed to give £30. and paid one Dollar, and delivered him in your
Absence, to your Lieutenant, which Man was afterwards reinlisted
by your Officers, and Davis himself detained. We have agreed, in
Case you allow this to be a true State of the Case, that Davis should
be discharged, upon his procuring another Man to serve in his Stead.
We by no Means approve of the Practice of discharging Men on the
present Terms, and desire that this may be the last Instance in your
Company. —

In December last, Mr McBryde Commissary of Somerset County,
wrote us that he had sent by Capt. Handy 46,420lbs of Beef in Bulk,
which we ordered to be delivered to Mr Crisall, by whose Receipt it
appears, there was a Deficiency of 8,709.lbs On the 25th of the same
Month Charles Blake Commissary of Queen Ann's, forwarded by
