I am favoured with your letter of 2d Currt and Agreeable to your
request I have Enclosed Samples of the Cloths I wrote you of, &
above is Invoice of the same charged with very little more than their
cost in Philada the Commissn there & the Expence of Transporta-
tion hither, Which I'm convinced you will be Satisfied of When you
examine their qualitys; the Stockings you may depend are Exceed-
ing good in their kind & charged very low
Capt Lansdale has seen both Cloths & Stockings Who says they
are good goods & Well adapted for your purpose
My situation respecting these goods is such that either Conti-
nental Currency at the prices charged or Bills on France at 15 Dol-
lars Curry p Livre is Immediately Wanted for them I wish sincerely
that the new State money was in such Circulation as to render it
equaly Agreeable the taking of that, but as yet there seems much
difficulty in passing it at all, and as I wish this Supply was procured
for the use of the Army I hope you may find it Convenient to make
the purchase without being under the Necessity of giving any of
the New State money in payment ? as three Dollars of it is now no
better then one Silver dollar according to the present State of Exa

from you on this business as soon as Convenient, because Opportuni-
