[William Clagett, Piscataway, to His Excely Thos Sim Lee Esqr
In Council] (by Mr Lansdale)

I hope by this time you have had time to examine the account
sent to you by Captn Wheeler, if it is right and agreeable to Law,
I shall esteem it a favour by your given the bearer Charles Lans-
dale an order for payment, the Goods seized are extended at 5 prices
from what I suppose they cost, which price I allowed the Gentlemen
who were willing to fix the price with me If you do not think proper
to pay the account, I shall be glad you would direct Mr Lansdale to
get a certificate.

[Geo. P. Keeports, Baltimore, to Gov. Lee.]

May It Please your Excelly Herewith I've Inclosed you an In-
voice of The Field Peices with The ammunition &c sent and One Half
of the Arms Receivd from Phila. The Other Half of The Musqts
were Delivered Out to the Militia The Last alarm In whose hands
They Now are. I have in the Armoury 155 Musqts with Bayonets
and 353 Musqts without Bayonets, (But have no Cartridge Boxes)
The whole of which have been in The Hands of the Militia The last
alarm and are Now Overhawling
I have Likewise Inclosed an Invoice of Cloth sent which is all I
Could as yet Procure.

[Thos. How Ridgate, Portobacco, to His Excellency Thos Simm
Lee Esqr]

On my return home yesterday I found your Letter of the 17th
Inst and have this post wrote my Friends Mess. Peter Whiteside
& Co. to treat with Mr Binian for the 26 Bales of Cloth and to
write you on the subject. I shall forward Mrs Diggs goods in the
course of next week and am with my best respects to your good Lady

[Pat Sim Smith, Calvert, to Gov. Lee.] (By Mr. Bayfield)

George Bayfield and Philip Shepherd have charge of Seventeen
Beef Cattle with Orders to Deliver them to John Crysale Commis-
sary at Annapolis — these are all I can send at present — more was col-
lected but have been left on the Ruad overcome with the Heat. I
expect I shall get another drove to send up next week & have engaged
those men to carry them.
I have agreed they shall be paid the price that other drivers have
& as I am without Cash hope they may have an order on the Treasury
for their wages.
I must beg to be furnished with some Cash or If ear I shall not be
able to Compleat my collection — as nothing can be done without
