for Troubling you but having a Distracted family & no one to sup-
port them but myself & a wife in a poor condition hope yr Excel-
lency & honours will take it into Consideration as I have no more
to inform yr Excellency that you will take Security for my Appear-
ance at Special or Talbot Court as Evidence

yr Petitioner having some further information to Give his Excel-
lency & yr honours & from his Excellency & Honours Promise of
Admitting me as an Evidence hop'd that you wou'd have releaStd
me that I might have gone to a distresStd family that has nobody to
maintain them but myself & being taken away so suddenly have not
a Shift of Lnnen & am full of Vermin & being friendless here & if
your Honour Pleases to grant it to me I can give you any moderate
Security & good People in Somerset or Worcester County to appear
against those People whom I lodge information against. I hope you
will consider my distresStd Situation & have me before yr Honours &
release me from this dismal Place & Order me before yr Honours

May it Please yr Excellency I ask you pardon for being so trouble-
some But having made application to some of the Council they In-
form'd me that I must apply to yr Excellency as it was intirely in yr
Breast to Pardon me & admit me to give Security if so I am confi-
dent in the Promise I have recd from yr Excellency from the Infor-
mation I have gave & am ready to give, may it Please yr Excellency
they tell us we are to draw no more provisions & the place where I
am confin'd there is near thirty in one little room. Some of their
Honours informd me that there was a Special Court to be held on
the Eastern Shore if so hope you will grant my request as you may
depend I wou'd return to my family & not make a Sacrifice of them
or if Mr Garrick is to be tried here & as I am to be a witness against
him I will give Col. Dashiel Good security for it I humbly Beg it as
a great favour you will Vouchsafe to admit me to your Presence to
lay the rest before you & the favour shall be Ever Acknowledg'd

May it Please yr Excellency I hope you will Excuse my troubling
you on this day but from yr hurry of Business on any other thought
this is the most Convenient to lay my distressd situation before you
I having such Violent pain in all my limbs & having no money to
support myself Even with the mere Common Necessaries of Life
which from the scarcity of Provisions here renders it impossible
without purchasing it my self of which I am incapable of & I being
hurried away at half an hours warning & with the assurances of
Colonel Dashiel that yr Excellency from his recommendation wou'd
