Among other proceedings was the following order (to wit)

Samuel Love Exr Whereas on motion of the Defendant the Court
of Saml Love are of opinion that the original Will of
Vs Samuel Love late of Charles County (De-
Thomas Reeder Jr ceased) ought to be produced on the trial
between the parties aforesaid, Therefore ordered by the Court that
the Clerk write to the Governor & Council, to direct the Keeper of
the Records to send down to this Court the original Will of said
Love to be produced on trial

Charles County ss. In Testimony that the foregoing order is truly
Copyed from the Records of Charles County I have hereunto set my
hand and Affixed the Seal of my office this 18th day of July Anno
Domini 1781. Jno Gwinn Clk Chas. Cty

[Samuel Maffitt, Cecil County to His Excellency Thomas S. Lee.]

Sir I receivd your order to Collect Eleven Draught and nine Light
horse from those who have been unfriendly to goverment, I have been
Examining such peoples horses in Cecil County, and find they are
Disabled from rendering services, by having their horses, or such
part as were fitt for the Service taken from them last fall. I believe
there cou'd be some horses procured for each service, cou'd money
be had to pay for them, but if they are to be Obtained without, it
will be Attended with so much Inconvenience and dificulty, that I
must intreat your Excellency woud think of some other person more
proper to Excute the Buisness.

[Danl Bowly, Baltimore, to His Excellency Governor Lee]
(p fav. of Cap. Johnson)

Captain Johnson and myself have a Schooner prepared to take
in a load of Flour for the West Indies as we understand there is now
full liberty to ship that article from this State by a late act of the
general Assembly; but our Naval Officer not having any orders from
your Excellency respecting it and the Law not being publisht, cannot
grant us permission to load but under the late restriction, or a clear-
ance where loaded. Capt Johnson therefore waits on your Excellency
to know if we can be permitted to load & depart

[Hezeh Wheeler, Captn, Select Militia, Piscataway to His Excelency
Thos S. Lee Esqr]
Gentlemen IncloStd you have a Pay Roll for a Company of Select
Militia belonging to Prince Georges County, for service done at
George Town, shall esteem it as Favour if your Honours will be so
obligeing as to give directions for the Payment thereof, I have applyd
to Colo Joshua Beall Lieut of the County who refers me to you: if
an Order on the Treasury should be Consistant shall be happy in
having it inclosed by the return of the Post.
