This Day the three weeks is out in which I engag'd to furnish the
Clothing & to morrow the whole will be ready except a few of the
Coats (their Delay is owing to a want of Red Cloth & of Buttons
neither of which was procurable either here or in Philada) & Blankets
which are not obtainable any where, However the Troops are so
Supplied that they will have five Blankets to every Six Men. If there
should be a greater Number of Recruits than was at first Imagin'd
I ought to be Immy Inform'd. The Rum & Coffee I forwarded to
Anapolis & all the soap procurable here, The Sugar requir'd was for-
warded by Col Dorsey. The Drums & fifes cannot be furnish'd for
this Detachment in any reasonable Time, I Have wrote to Philad3
for them & more Tent Cloth, there not being more than necessary for
50 Tents & officers Tents in this place, The Tobacco on Choptank
I sold yesterday for Hard Cash at 15/ p 100lbs Mr Poe Informs me
that unless the Tents goes thro: his Department the Continent will
not accot for them, His Deputy Mr Swan will Carry this, & will pass
receipts for them, if you are of the same opinion
