320 Letters to the Governor and Council

[Josa Beall, Lieu' Ps Gs Cty to His Excell. Thomas Simm Lee Esqr]

Inclosed is a return from the Field Officers of the Upper Bat-
talion of this County, for Commissions to fill up Vacancys in that
Battln I have not yet receivd the commissions for the other Select
Company in this County, who seem impatient to be on Duty. At the
Earnest request of Samuel Beall son of Richard late of Montgomery
County, I have taken the liberty of recommending him as a Lieut or
Ensigne in the two Battalions that are now to be raised.

[Sam Huntington, President, Philadelphia, to His Excellency,
Governor Lee.]

The Regiment of Invalids being at the Desire of the Commander
in Chief forthwith to be removed from this City to garrison West
point on the North River, Congress have thought it expedient to pass
the enclosed Resolve of the 26th Instant, recommending to the States
of Delaware Maryland & Virginia to settle with the Officers & Men
of that Regiment who are Citizens of those states respectively, on
Certificates from the Commanding Officer without requiring per-
sonal Attendance to liquidate their Accounts for Depreciation.
