and good Disposition of great Numbers of Gentlemen on the Eastern
Shore, and the entire Reliance we have on the Efficacy of your Exer-
tions and Applications, induce us to recommend this Business (the
immediate Supply of Flour for the Continental Army) to your most
serious Consideration, and we flatter ourselves, the Measures you
adopt, whether by Purchase, by Loan or otherwise will be most
effectual to answer the present Exigency. If wheat and Flour are
purchased, Money shall be transmitted for immediate Payment and
Certificates may be granted for all Loans bearing an Interest of
8 p Cent to be paid in Kind, and we think if Vessel can be procured in
your Rivers, the Flour, as fast as it can be collected in proper
Quantities, should be sent to the Army in Virginia.

Wednesday 26th September 1781
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo Thomas
Wool ford of the 5th Regimt nine pounds of the Bills emitted under
the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca of the money appro-
priated for the present Campaign for Stores on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Benjamin Yieldhall eleven pounds,
six shillings and three pence of the same Emission of the money
aforesaid due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt. Horatio Clagett Twenty
pounds & six pence of the same Emission of the money aforesaid to
be delivered over to William Clagett on Account
That the said Treasurer pay to Lt John Kilty fifteen pounds Specie
part of the 4000£ appropd for the Officers going to the Southward on
account

In Addition to our Letter of yesterday we have to request you will
direct all the County Commissaries within your District, to lorward
the Beef Cattle to George Town on Patowmack, except those from
Washington and Frederick, which are to be sent to Fredericksburg in
Virginia. We flatter ourselves you will use every Endeavour to
collect and forward the Supplies to the Army in Virginia, without
Delay.
