We want three hundred stand of Arms compleat to equip the
Troops now here which we request you to forward immediately to
enable the two Battalions to march, we also request you to send all
the Blankets and shoes that you or Colo Smith can possibly collect
either by purchase or Seizure for the same Purpose

By Information this Day received from his Excellency Gen' Wash-
ington of a Detachment of the main Army marching towards Vir-
ginia under his immediate Command, and urges the immediate Equip-
ment and March of the Levies at this Place, and before they can
move, it will be necessary to furnish them with Blankets and Shoes ;
we therefore earnestly request you to purchase or otherwise procure
all the Blankets, or Cloth proper for Blankets and Shoes in Baltimore
Town, and have them delivered to Capt Keeports who will forward
them; we flatter ourselves from the Importance of the Service every
good Citizen will chearfully sell the Articles required.
