That the said Treasurer pay to Brigadier Genl Gist thirty pounds
Specie part of the £4,000 appropriated to the Officers going to the
Southward on Account.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Captain Henry Gaither,
one Drum and two fifes for the use of the fourth Regiment.

Greenbury Simpson drafted from the 5 1st Class of Militia in Ann
Arundel County under the " Act to raise two Battalions of Militia
&ca passed May Session 1781 having made Oath that he was drafted
in the 47th Class in said County under the Act passed October Session
1780 and procured John Jordan to enlist for the war to whom he gave
Forty pounds, part Gold and part paper equal to Gold, and that he
has a Mother sixty odd years of age and three Sisters the eldest about
fourteen, two has not been able to do any thing for two years past,
the next to her about 12 and the youngest about ten years of age, who
depend on his labour only for Support; is therefore discharged from
the Duty for which he was drafted.

Peter Bahan who is returned by you as a recruit enlisted during the
war, complains that he was hired as a substitute by Mr Richard
Amory, and that Mr Amory engaged to give him one hundred Bushels
of wheat, which he Bayhan has not received, we request you to make
Enquiry, and give us Information of this Mans Situation that Justice
may be done him, for, if he has not received a Compensation for
becoming a Substitute he will of Course be entitled to the Bounty
given to recruits.
