[Council to Col. Charles G. Griffith.]
We have received your Letter of the 20th and approve very highly
of the Disposition of the Gentlemen in your Neighbourhood of form-
ing themselves into a Troop of Horse under the Act of June Session
1780 upon this Principle we would most willingly accomodate you
with Swords Pistols and Holsters at the public Expence were it within
our power; but we have none of there Accoutrements. We trust that
your Zeal and Activity will not be abated but that the same spirit which
induced you and your Associates to form such a Design will carry
it into Effect, and that you will find Means to procure the Things you
want to equip the Troop
