[Council to Messrs Young, George Keeports, Richard Lemmon, Isaac
Griest and John McClellan.]

We have appointed you to obtain by Purchase or Seizure the
Blankets and Articles of Cloathing mentioned in the enclosed List,
agreeable to the Act here, with transmitted and request you to enter
on that Business immediately. We are convinced the Necessity that
constrains us to exercise the Power of seizure though irksome and
disagreeable in itself induce you to accept the Commission, and carry
it into Effect with Alacrity and Expedition.

Thursday 23d August 1781.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt. John
Mitchell of the 4th Regimt three pounds of the Bills emitted under
the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit not exceeding 200,000£ s
&ca of the money appropriated for the present Campaign for stores
to the 1st instant on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Colo George Dashiell Five hundred
pounds of the same Emission of the money appropriated as aforesaid
to be by him expended in the Purchase of Pork and accounted for.
That the said Treasurer pay to the said Colo George Dashiell Two
hundred Pounds of the same Emission of the money appropriated as
aforesd to be delivered over to Peter Chaille Commissary of Wor-
cester County to be expended in the purchase of Barreld Pork and
accounted for.
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Adam Ott one hundred and
Sixty five Pounds, eleven shillings and eight pence of the same
Emission of the money appropriated as aforesaid due himself and
Company of Select Militia and also the further sum of thirty two
Pounds like money as above due him per Accounts passed by the
Aud. Genl and Depy Aud.
