Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Captain Robert
Denny five hundred pounds of the Bills emitted under the Act for
the Emission of Bills of Credit not exceeding 200,000£s &ca of the
money appropriated for the prest Campaign to be expended in paying
Bounties to Recruits & by him Accounted for.

[ Council to James Calhoun Esqr. ]

The official Assistant of the superintendant of the Finances of the
united States has required of us two thousand Barrels of good sweet
Flour, such as will pass Inspection as merchantable to be delivered on
or before the 24th Currant on some of the navigable waters of
chesepeak to Matthew Ridley Esqr we are convinced that the requi-
sition should be complied with, and every Effort ought to be made to
procure and deliver it within the Time. We wish to have the whole
delivered at Baltimore Town, but are apprehensive it will not be in
your power, you will therefore [send] as much there you possibly can
and the remainder at George Town unless upon Consultation with Mr
Ridley, you should think it would answer the Purpose at any other
Post and save Expence, then we would have you deliver it at such
Post, you will have the whole inspected and turned over to Mr Ridley,
giving him Notice of the Time and Places of Deposit that he may be
present. You will inform us immediately what Prospects you have of
complying with this requisition and in what Time. We shall be glad
to know what Quantities of Flour has been turned over by you to the
Continent.

There is a requisition from the Superintendant of the Finances for

we have written to Mr Calhoun on the Subject and as we are anxious
to have the Flour ready in Time desire to know from you, whether
you can deliver any, and what part, where, and in what Time. Also
a Return of what Quantity of Flour you have lately delivered over to
the continental Commissary.
