Enclosed you have Commissions for Capt Hillearys Company of
Select Militia. We request you to have Cartridge Boxes made suffi-
cient for the select Militia of your County, and the Money for them
shall be transmitted you on Demand. We have received your Letter
of the 13th with the Enclosures relative to Gerod and we thank you
for your Attention.

It is necessary that fifty Head of Beef Cattle should be either pur-
chased or seized to supply the Post at Baltimore when wanted you are
therefore directed to purchase or Seize that Number from the Part
of the County most exposed according to the Law of the last Session
for procuring an immediate Supply of Cloathing and fleh Provisions
for the Troops, and have them placed in good and convenient Pastures
ready to be delivered to Mr Calhoun or our future Order.

sible; if you want any sort of Cordage apply to John Dorsey and Com-
pany for it, they have contracted to furnish the State with a quantity.
We direct you also to take the Barge with you and have her effectually
repaired we rely on your good Management and Industry.

continue in great Force at York and Gloster where they are busily
employed in compleating their Fortifications. " The Marquis [ ] on
Pomonky. We have neither Grape eighteen nor round twenty four
Pound Shott, very little of [Iron] and Cartridge Paper, however of
that little Capt. Grason has orders for two hundred weight of the
Iron and six quires of paper.
