There are near five hundred Soldiers at this Place and the Com-
missary is without flesh Provision, we request you will have forty
Head of Cattle drove to this City and delivered to John Chrysal with
all possible Dispatch; it is absolutely necessary that at least ten Beeves
be delivered in four Days, and the remaining thirty as soon thereafter
as your Circumstances will admit. The new Money will be in Cir-
culation next week, when you will be furnished to enable you to
defray the Expences of your Department.

Thursday 12^th July 1781

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to John Bullen
Esq^r Fifty pounds of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission
of Bills of Credit not exceeding two hundred thousand pounds &^ra to
be expended in the purchase of Necessaries for General Smallwoods
Table and Accounted for.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut James Arthur of the 4^th
Regiment three pounds eight shillings and five pounds ten shillings
of the same Emission in lieu of the like sums specie due p Accounts
passed by the Aud. G^l
That the said Treasurer pay to Mary Preston and Hannah May
each, fifteen shillings of the same Emission due them p Acc^ts passed
by the D. Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Jonathan Parker five pounds of

the same Emission for riding Express to be accounted for.
