and that Colo Smith insists on his entering into the Militia and doing
Duty. Before we decide this Matter we wish to be fully informed
of the Circumstances of this Man's Case, and whether there is any
Suspicion of any Collusion or improper Practices between him and
the Officer that took him, and that the real Design was that Crawley
should remain here and the State be deprived of his personal Services.
As soon as possible after you report Crawley's Case we will deter-
mine on it and communicate our opinion to you, and in the mean
Time we would not have him compelled to act in the Militia.

Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to Colo Adams as
much Russia Sheeting or Top Gallant Duck as will finish his Marque
to be charged to the Contint
That the western shore Treasurer deliver to John Muir one hun-
dred hhds. of Tobacco to be delivered over to Colo Samuel Smith to
he by him expended in the purchase of Cloathing &ca and Ac-
counted for.
In Virtue of the " Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit not
exceeding two hundred thousand pounds, on the security of Double
the value in Lands, to defray the Expences of the present Campaign "
Thomas Gassaway, Thomas Johnson Junr Frederick Green, Isaac
McHard, Nicholas Harwood and John Callahan are appointed
Signers of the Bills emitted under the said Act.

We desire to be immediately informed what State the four Pound
Carriages are in, how many are finished and how many on Hand,
what Quantity of Iron will be sufficient. If all the Carriages we
directed you to make are not on Hand, we would not have you
begin them

Ordered that the Issuing Commissary deliver to Capt. Robert
Chesley of the 4th Regimt twelve Gallons of Rum and forty eight
pounds of sugar Stores due to the first Instant.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to John Baker a Dis-
charged soldier one shirt, 1 Hat one pair Overalls and one hunting
shirt.
Special Commissions of Oyer and Terminer and Goal Delivery
issued to Dorchester County directed to Nicholas Thomas, William
Ennalls, John Dickinson James Murray and Robert Harrison Es-
quires or any three or more of them In Virtue of the " Act entitled
an Act to enable the Governor to issue Commissions of Oyer and
Goal Delivery in certain Cases."
