Yours of this Day we have received, we agree to your Proposals ,
and have drawn an Order in your Favor for two hundred and thirty
three Hogsheads of Tobacco on Chaptico Lewellins and Leonard
Town warehouses which we would have immediately transported
by the way of back Creek and the Head of Elk to Philadelphia sub-
ject to our further Orders.

As we shall want a Quantity of Cloathing for the officers who have
not yet received any Supplies of that kind, we wish you procure
what blue, white and Scarlet Cloths Mr Muir has, which he will dis-
pose of to the State provided the Price and Quality meet your Appro-
bation.

In Virtue of the Act to procure an immediate Supply of Cloathing
&ca we have appointed you [to] purchase Blankets and all Sorts of
Cloathing, Blankets, Hatts, Shoes, Linen for soldiers Shirts woollen
Cloth for Coats Vests and overalls linen for overalls yarn Stockings
linen fit for Tents Canvas Russia sheeting or Linen of equal Quality
for the Troops of this State and for your Direction in executing this
Business under this Appointment we have sent you a Copy of the
Law, as the Cloathing is wanted immediately, we are convinced you
will use your utmost Diligence in procuring what can be had in your
County; and when you make a Return of what Cloathing you have
got, which you [should] do as soon as possible after your purchase;
we will direct you where to forward it. To the person appointed in
Ann Arundel County to be inserted in his Letter, linen for officers
Shirts, blue broad Cloth fit for Officers regimentals a small Quantity
of Scarlet broad Cloth for facings.

People an Opportunity of discharging their Taxes in Bacon which
we request you to have made public immediately.

Order on you for twenty five Pair of Shoes for the recruits in Wash-
ington County, you will be so obliging as to deliver them, the remain-

as may want; you will send by the Return of the Horses ordered
with the Cloathing for the Recruits in Washington. We have given
