That the Eastern shore Treasurer pay to Ensign John Chairs of
the 5th Regimt forty three pounds eight shillings and one penny half
penny due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the Issuing Commissary deliver to Major John Dean ten
Gallons of Rum and fifty six pounds of sugar and also to Ensign
John Chairs Thirty Gallons of Rum and one hundred and twenty
pounds of sugar due them to the first Instant.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Ensign John Chairs
Cloth and Trimmings for one Suit of Cloaths and Linen for six
shirts in part of the Articles for the years 1780 and 1781.

We received yours of the 17th Instant. It gives us pleasure to hear
of your Success in furnishing the Men required of your County, but
lament we have not at present our Power to supply the Cloathing for
them. We hope to be able to do it in a short Time from the Sale of
some of the State Flour. From a Representation made to this Board
by Major Deane that the old Soldiers and Recruits in your County
are much in want of Shoes, and that any Quantity of Leather may be
procured there which may be immediately made up by them at a
moderate Price, we are induced to draw an Order (which is enclosed)
on the Eastern Shore Treasurer for £150 to enable vou to purchase
the Leather and pay for making the Shoes.

It has been represented to this Board that a Mr Snow who was
taken by George Mann an Inhabitant of this State and by him carried
into Philadelphia, when in Possession of the Enemy and delivered up
to them, has lately returned from Confinement in New York into

your State and that upon Application to him he will be able to inform
your Excellency, the Persons who have a knowledge of the Fact,
George Mann is now in Goal in the State as a disaffected and danger-
ous Person, we have to request the Favor of your Excellency to pro-
cure of Mr Snow Information of the Evidences and to take such
Steps with him and them as will compel them to appear at the next
General Court for this State to be held on the Eastern Shore of the
said State on the 2d Tuesday in Sep' next to give Testimony against
the said George Man.
