Post upon Holland Island, and the other Islands in that Neighbour-
hood; Capt Trueman had an Extract of the Law for the Defence
of the Bay in which the Measures to he taken with the Inhabitants
of the Islands mentioned in the Law are described, and he is directed
if he can conveniently do it to assist the Lieutenants and Militia
of the Counties in which those Islands are to carry that Part of
the Law into Execution. We give you this Information that you
may apply to Capt Trueman and if practicable to effect the Purposes
of that Law. It gives us Concern to hear from you that you have
no Recruits and that Disaffection so far prevails among the People
in your County. The Militia in general in other Parts of the Country
have been very ready and active when called upon the Law passed
the last Session if carried into Execution certainly is fully sufficient
to oblige the Militia to their Duty, we apprehend it has not reached
you and therefore give you abstracts from it. All the Penalties and
Militia Fines imposed by the Act to regulate the Militia and the
Supplement and additional Supplement to the said shall for any future
Offences, be in Spanish Dollars at 7/6 each payable therein or in
other Silver or Gold at the Value, or new Bills of Credit of the Emis-
sion of the State or new continental Bills of Credit emitted in this
State at their passing Value at the Time of Payment, on warrant
under the Hand of the Lieutenant of the County to the Sheriff to be
collected by Distress and Sale of the Parties Lands Goods &ca No
Fine to be imposed without hearing the Party on his Neglect to appear
after Notice If Militia ordered in Service because of an Invasion
of this State any able Bodied Militia Man may be compelled by Force
to attend and do his Duty

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Henry Hall four
pounds due him per Account passed by the Aud. Gen'
That the said Treasurer pay to Major John Dean Seventeen pounds
eight shillings and ten pence half penny due him p Acct passed by the

That the said Treasurer pay to Elenor Alien eight pounds due her
per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to His Excellency Thomas Sim Lee
Esqr four hundred and thirteen pounds six shillings and eight pence
on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lancelot Warfield ten pounds four-
teen shillings and six pence to be delivered over to Nicholas Hall due
him per Account passed by the Aud. Gen'
That the said Treasurer pay to Joseph Baxter one hundred and
fifty pounds of the new Emission in lieu of Thirty seven pounds ten
shillings specie due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
