We think it would be proper and necessary to have the Arms &ca
you have put in the best Order you can, to enable us to oppose with
some Degree of Efficacy any Attempt that may be made on this State.

You will proceed immediately down the Bay as far as you can with
Security, and should you see or receive any Intelligence which you
can depend on of the Enemy making up the Bay you are to return to
this Place with all Expedition and give Information thereof to us.

[Council Circular to Richard Dallam, Jno Thompson, William
Hemsley and William Boardly.]

The enclosed warrant is founded on a Resolution of the General
Assembly passed this Day and it is absolutely necessary it should
be executed immediately for if it should be delayed a Moment the
Party may obtain Notice of your Intention and make his Escape or
conceals his Books and Papers.

Saturday 20 January 1781

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Francis Fen-
wick forty pounds fourteen shillings of the new Emission in lieu of
one thousand six hundred and twenty eight pounds and five pence
due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Wilmot sixteen pounds seven-
teen shillings and three pence of the same Emission in lieu of six
hundred and seventy four pounds and ten shillings due him per
Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Jonathan Parker Eleven pounds
seventeen shillings and four pence half penny of the same Emission
in lieu of four hundred and seventy four pounds, fifteen shillings clue
him p Acct. passed by the A. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut Thomas Price of the third
Regiment seven pounds, twelve shillings and five pence of the same
Emission in lieu of three hundred and four pounds, seventeen shil-
lings and six pence due him for Stores per Account passed by the
Aud. General.
That the said Treasurer pay to Ensign Roger Nelson of the sixth
Regiment Eleven pounds four shillings and five pence farthing of
the same Emission in lieu of four hundred and forty eight pounds,
seventeen shillings and six pence due him per Account passed by the
And. Genl.
That the E. S. Treasurer pay to Isaac Perkins two hundred and
seventy six pounds, seven shillings and six pence of the same Emis-
sion in lieu of Eleven thousand and fifty five pounds and five pence
due him p acct passed by the A Gl
