Thursday morning, Aug 8. 1745
The House met according to Adjournment, All members present
as Yesterday. The Proceedings of Yesterday were read.
On Motion of a Member, that a Bill be brought in for regulating
of Officer's Fees; Leave given, and Ordered, that the Committee of
Laws prepare and bring in the same.
On Motion of a Member, that a Bill be brought in for enlarging
the Jurisdiction of the County Courts; Leave given, and Ordered,
that the Committee of Laws prepare and bring in the same.
Mr Worthington from the Committee of Elections and Privileges,
acquaints Mr Speaker that the Committee had made Choice of Mr
Thomas Jennings for their Clerk. The House approves the Choice.
Ordered, That Maj. Hall qualify Mr Jennings as Clerk to the Com-
mittee of Elections and Privileges, Maj Hall acquaints Mr Speaker,
that he hath qualified Mr Jennings, by administring to him the sev-
eral Oaths to the Government, causing him to sign the Oath of Ab-
juration, to repeat and sign the Test, and take the Oath of Office.
The House adjourns to 2 of the Clock.

On Motion of a Member, Leave is given to bring in an addi-
tional Supplementary Bill to the Act entituled, An Act for laying out
and erecting a Town at a Place called Long Point, on the West Side
of North East River in Cecil County.
William Stoughton Esqre from the Committee of Laws, delivers
Mr Speaker the Bill entituled, An Act for enlarging the Jurisdiction
of the County Courts, Which Bill was read the first Time and or-
dered to lie on the Table.
The House adjourns 'til To-Morrow Morning 9 of the Clock.

A Petition of Mr Stephen Bordley, complaining of an undue Elec-
tion and Return of a Citizen and Delegate to serve in the present
General Assembly for the City of Annapolis, the Consideration of
which was refer'd to this Day, being read: The House proceeds
to hear the Complaint at the Bar of the House.
The House adjourns to 2 of the Clock.
