The House met according to adjournment &c.
All appeared as yesterday except Mr Philip Hammond.
Mr Harris from the Committee of Laws, delivers to Mr Speaker
a Bill entituled, An Act for repairing and amending the Public and
County Goal, in the City of Annapolis: Which Bill was Read the
first time, and Ordered to lie on the Table.
The House adjourns 'til 2 of the Clock.
Post Meridiem
The House met, &c.
It being proposed by the Upper House, to the Conferees of the
Lower House, that the allowance for Copying and Recording in
the Land Office, for the Clerk of the Council, and for the Clerk of
the Court of Appeals, be nine pounds of Tobacco for every 105
words; and the same being Reported by the Conferees of this House,
the Question was put, whether the Copying and Recording in the
Land Office, for the Clerk of the Council, and Clerk of the High
Court of Appeals, shall be nine pounds of Tobacco for every 105
words, or not ? Resolved in the Affirmative.
