chase four acres of Land within the ffence of the City of Annapolis,
for the use of the public; and to build thereon a Dwelling House
and other Conveniencies for the Residence of the Governor of Mary-
land for the time being; and to Repeal part of other Acts therein
mentioned.
The House adjourns until To-morrow Morning 9 o'clock

June 5

Friday Morning, June 5th 1747.

The House met according to adjournment &c.
All members appeared as Yesterday, except Mr Thomas, Col.
Henry, Major Barnes, Mr John Goldsborough, Col. Hall, Mr Paca,
Mr Lecompte and Mr Sulivane.
An Account from the Serjeant at arms, attending this House, for
Charges and Expences of sending for Mr Smallwood, Mr Courts,
Mr Wilkinson Col. Hooper, and Capt Ennalls, in pursuance of an
Order of this House, being brought in and Read, the Question was
put, whether Mr Smallwood Mr Courts, Mr Wilkinson, Cot. Hooper
and Capt. Ennalls should discharge the said Account, or that the
account should be paid by the public? Carried, that the account
should be paid by the public.

For the Account being paid by the public.

On the Determination of the above Question, It is Resulved, That

the Account be paid by the public, in as much, as it appears
that the non-attendance of those Gentlemen, was occasioned by the
great apprehension they were under, from the Rumour of the small
pox raging in Annapolis
The House adjourns until 2 of the Clock
