for the Troops aforesaid, at such Rates and Prices as they the said
Agents, or any two of them, can agree for, and pay such Person or
Persons for the same out of the Money by them to be received. And
the said Commissioners or Trustees are hereby impowered and
directed to pay the said Sum of three thousand Pounds, in Bills
of Credit, to the Agents aforesaid, or any two of them, out of
any of the Moneys or Bills of Credit remaining appropriated or
unappropriated in the said Office: And they the said Commissioners
or Trustees are hereby directed to charge the Sums which they shall
pay by Virtue of this Act, in an Account by them to be stated, to the
Uses of this Act; and such Account to credit by what Payments shall
be made to them, in Virtue of any Clause or Clauses in this Act here-
after mentioned. And in case any Part of the aforesaid Sum of four
thousand five hundred Pounds should remain in the Hands of any
of the Agents herein before mentioned, unapplied to the Uses in this
Act mentioned, that then, and in such Case, the said Agents shall
and are hereby required and directed to repay the same to the Com-
missioners or Trustees aforesaid, into the Office aforesaid; for which
the said Agents are to take Receipts, and the said Commissioners
or Trustees are hereby directed and required to credit the Account,
by them to be stated for the Uses of this Act, with such Payments.

And in case it shall be found necessary to transport the Forces to
be raised within this Province, by Land or Water, to the Place of
Rendezvous, Be it Enacted by the Authority aforesaid, That no
Person or Persons, or Master or Skipper of any Ship, Sloop, or other
Vessel, who by Virtue of, or in Compliance with, this Act, shall take
on board, convey, or carry out of this Province, by Land or Water,
any of the Forces to be raised therein for the intended Expedition,
by Virtue of any Agreement with the Agents appointed for that
Purpose, shall be liable to any Action, of Penalty, by Virtue of any
Act of Assembly of this Province; but that such Persons, Masters,
or Skippers, may lawfully covenant with such Agents for the Service
aforesaid, and such Forces transport and carry away by Virtue of
such Agreements; provided such Men or Forces are duly inlisted
into his Majesty's Service, by Persons appointed by his Excellency
the Governor of this Province, and commissioned by his Majesty.

And in order to provide the said Troops with Arms, on the Credit
of the Letter aforesaid, Be it Enacted by the Authority aforesaid,
That it shall and may be lawful for his Excellency Thomas Bladen,
Esq; Governor of this Province, to deliver and give out of the public
Magazine of this Province, any Quantity of Arms and Accoutre-
ments, for such able-bodied Freemen so as aforesaid inlisted within
this Province, so that the same shall not exceed three hundred Mus-
kets, with Slings and Bayonets; three hundred Cartouch-Boxes,
with Belts; six Drums; nine half Pikes; and six Halberts.
