Mr Speaker receives from his Excellency the Duke of Newcastles
Letter mentioned in his Speech, which was read, and ordered to lie
for the Perusal of the Members
The House adjourns til 2 of the Clock

Post Meridiem

The House met according to Adjournment. Mr Dennis appears
in the House. The House resolves it self into A Committee of the
whole House, and Mr Speaker leaves the Chair. Mr Speaker re-
sumes the Chair and Mr George from the Committee of the whole
House reports to the House the following resolution agreed upon
by the said Committee, which were ordered to lie for a further Con-
sideration Viz.
Resolved, That a Sum of Money not exceeding Four thousand five
hundred Pounds be taken out of the Loan office for the Purposes
following Viz.
Resolved, That fifteen hundred Pounds, part thereof, be applyed
as Bounty money for Three Hundred able bodied men who shall
voluntarily inlist themselves in his Majesty's Service for the in-
tended Expedition against Canada, at five pounds per man

Resolved That three Thousand Pounds the Residue be applied to
support and convey the said men till they arrive at Albany, or such
other place of Rendezvous as shall by Mr Gooch, Lieutenant Gov-
ernor of Virginia be appointed.
Resolved, That the said Sums, amounting in the whole to four
Thousand five Hundred Pounds, be replaced in the Loan Office by
an Ordinary License Bill to be prepared for that purpose, which Bill
shall include this his Majesty's Service. The House adjourns 'til
To-morrow Morning 9 of the Clock

June 19

Thursday Morning June 19. 1746.

The House met according to adjournment, and the Proceedings
of Yesterday were read.
Capt. Ennalls appears in the House. Ordered that the Committee
appointed to inspect the state and Condition of the Arms and Am-
munition &c do enquire what Quantity of Arms and warlike Stores
there is in the Province belonging to the Public, and that they imme-
diately make report thereof to the House. Mr [Wilson] and Mr
Nicholas Goldsborough added to the Committee of Aggrievances
&c Mr Speaker Communicates to the House the Governors Answer to
their Address on his speech which is as follows Viz.
Gentlemen of the Lower House of Assembly
Your Address gives me much Satisfaction: I can make no doubt
but that you will Act upon the present important Occasion as be-
