Friday Morning, September 20. 1745
The House met according to Adjournment. All members present
as Yesterday except Maj. Sherredine and Mr Joseph Hall.
The Proceedings of Yesterday were read.
Edmund Jennings Esqre from the Upper House, delivers Mr
Speaker the Bill entituled, An Act to enable the Commissary General
to enter and record, amongst the Records of his Office, the last Will
and Testament of Henry Staples deceased, for the Purposes therein
mentioned, (See page 42)
Which Bill was here read, and passed for Ingrossing.
Daniel Dulany Esqr from the Upper House, delivers Mr Speaker
a Bill entituled, An Act to prevent Frauds and to secure the Estates
of Purchasers; and a Bill entituled, An Act to remedy some Incon-
veniences in the present Practice relating to Attachments: Which
Bills were thus Indorsed (See page 42)
The House adjourns 'til 2 of the Clock.
Post Meridiem
The House met according to Adjournment.
The Bill entituled, An Act for Limitation of Officers Fees, was
read the second Time, passed, and sent to the Upper House by
Mr Courts, and Mr Pearce.
An ingrossed Bill entituled, An Act for the Trial of all Matters
of Fact in the several Counties where they have arisen or shall arise,
was read and assented to, and sent to the Upper House, with the
Paper Bill, by Mr Hyland and Capt. Hopper.
On reading an Ingrossed Bill entituled, An Act for laying an
Imposition on Tobacco, and other Commodities therein mentioned,
for the Discharge of his Lordship's Quit Rents, and Support of
Government, the Question being put, whether the House will assent
thereto ? It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
