that hath been paid to any of the Sherifs heretofore, or now being
within this Province, and which shall not be paid unto the Commis-
sioners or Trustees for emitting Bills of Credit, established by Act
of Assembly according to the Directions of, and to the uses and Pur-
poses in the said Act, before the twenty fifth Day of December next

ensuing; that then, and for Default of such Payment, the Attorney
General of this Province shall, and he is hereby directed, upon Ap-
plication from the said Commissioners or Trustees, to sue the Bonds
of such Sherifs, or the Executors or Administrators of such Sherifs,
or their Bondsmen, according to the Year wherein the Deficiency
appears, or the Nature of the Case requires or will admit, for the
Recovery of such Sum or Sums of Money as appears to be due for, or
by means of the Purposes in the said Act mentioned. And the said
Commissioners or Trustees are hereby required to give to the said
Attorney General for the Time being, at or before the first Day of
February next ensuing, a List of such Sherifs as have been deficient
in making Payment, and the Years when the same became due re-
spectively; as also Directions to sue such Sherifs Bonds as herein
before directed.
And be it likewise Enacted, That if any Sherif or Sherifs within
this Province, who shall receive any of the Fines, Forfeitures, or
Duties, in this Act mentioned, and shall not as herein before directed
pay the same to the said Commissioners or Trustees for emitting
Bills of Credit, yearly, as by this Act is herein before directed: that
then and in such case, the said Commissioners or Trustees shall, and
they are hereby directed to order the Attorney General for the Time
being, to put the Bonds of such Sherifs in Suit, for the Recovery
thereof.
And be it further Enacted, That in Case it shall appear to the
Justices of any County Court within this Province, that any Licensed
Ordinary Keeper by Virtue of the Act entituled, An Act for raising
and issuing money for maintaining his Majesty's Forces to be raised
in this Province, and for transporting them to the Place of Ren-
devour in the West Indies, within their respective Counties, have not
paid the Fines which by the said Act were payable, that then and in
such Case, they the said respective Justices shall, and they are hereby
authorized and directed to order the Clerk of Indictments of their
respective Counties to sue and implead such Ordinary Keeper, and
his or their Surety or Sueties for the Recovery of such Fine or
Fines; and such Clerk of the Indictments, and every of them be and
are hereby directed and authorized to prosecute the same to Effect,
and upon Recovery of such Fines, or money due, the said Iustices
of each respective County Court are hereby directed to order the
respective Sherifs to receive the same; and when so received, to pay
the same according to the Directions of the last above mentioned
Act, to the Commissioners or Trustees for emitting Bills of Credit,
