Bee it knowne unto all men by these pents That I Owen James of
the Prouince of Maryland under the gouermt of the Ld Baltemore
Planter, doe hereby acknowledge & confesse tht I doe owe & am
indebted unto Thomas Ticknor Cittizen & Grocer of London, the
some of ffifty fower pownds, one shilling, & Two pence of Lawfull
money of England for diuers goods, waires & commodities by mee
receaued & had of the sd Thomas Ticknor, for the supplying of my
plantaons in the Prouince of Maryland aforesa, And to be payd unto
the sd Thomas Ticknor his heyres, Admrs, or Assignes uppon the
Tenth day of March next ensuing the date hereof. And for the
true paymt thereof unto the sd Thomas Ticknor his Executors &
Assignes. I bind mee my heyres Executors & Adrhistrators in the
sume of One hundd & Eight pownds of law full money of England,
firmely by these pents. Sealed wth my Scale dated the Seauenteenth
day of Nouembr in the yeare of Our Lord God, One Thowsand six
hundd ffifty & ffower. The marke of the sd Owen James Signed,
Sealed & Deliuered in the pence of John Steuens, Thomas Pearson
Serr.
To all poeple to whom this pent writing shall come, I Owen James
of the Prouince of Maryland, under the Gouermt of the Ld Baltemore
Planter & now bownd out from the Port of London to the Prouince
aforesd send Greeting. Whereas I the sd Owen James in & by a cer-

taine Bill or writing under my hand & Scale bearing date the day
of these presents stand indebted & bownd to pay unto Thomas
Ticknor Cittizen & Grocer of London in the sume of ffifty fowre
pownds, One shilling & Two pence payable uppon the Tenth day of
March next ensuing the date of the sd Bill. And for true peformance
thereof, being for goods, wares, commodities & merchandizes by me
receaued & had of the sd Thomas Ticknor for the supply of my Plan-
taons in the Prouince aforesd I haue bownd my selfe in Executors &
Admistrators in the summe of one hundd & Eight pownds as by the sd
Bill of Debt or writing (relation being thereunto had) may att large
appeare. And whereas allso I the sd Owen James haue laden & intend
to lade aboard the good Ship called the Goulden ffortune of London,
whereof Samuel Tilghman is master under God, now bound out up-
pon a Voyage to the Prouince of Maryland diuers goods merchan-
dizes & commodities, the prticulars whereof are mentioned & ex-
pressed in an Inuoyce thereof hereunto annexed, & are to goe under
the marke in the margent. Now know Yee tht I the sd Owen James
for & in Consideraon of the better security of true paymt & satisfac-
tion to bee made unto the sd Thomas Ticknor his Executers or As-
signes of the sume of ffifty ffower pownds, One shilling, & Two pence
according to the tenor of the sd Bill of Debt Haue bargayned & sould
& by these pents doe bargaine & sell unto the sd Thomas Ticknor his
Executors, Admistrators & Assignes to his & their owne use & uses,
All & Euery the sd goods, merchandizes & commodities in the sd
