then is expressed in this letter of Attorney, That is to say, The Cattle
for to putt them to bee carefully preserued & kept by them selues, or
any others gyuing a third part of the encrease for the s^d preseruaon :
or paying other satisfaction according to the Custome of the Country.
And the Land to Rent it out for some small tearme of time, as Two
or Three yeares. The Tennant th^t takes it being obliged to pay the
cheife Rent to the L^d Proprietary, or his Minister to th^t effect, And
for the Rent allready due my s^d Attorneys may sell such part of the
cattle or other goods as may amount to pay the L^d Prop^e for the s^d
Cheife Rent, And in Confirmaon of all afore conteyned in this Ire
of Attorney & order I haue hereunto sett my hand & Scale the 2^d day
of August Afio 1658.

W^ch Letter, & letter of Attorney being read in Court, the plf
replyeth th^t it is not of any Validity, it not being signed & attested
by a sworne & publick Notary.
But the Judgm^t of the Court is th^t the letter of Attorney ought to
bee allowed Both the Gouerno^r & some of the Councell, & others
allso p^ent partly knowing the hands of those who are wittnesses to
the s^d letter of Attorney, Easpecially M^r Meese, & D^r Parnall: And
the hand likewise of James Neale who writt the s^d letter of Attorney
by some being partly knowne allso; & for seuerall other probable
causes. Ordered th^t the s^d Rob^t Cole prf surrender his letters of
admistraon & th^t M^r Bretton deft, by uertue of his s^d Ire of Attorney
be admitted the Attorney of the s^d M^r James Neale.

Extent. Cecilius &c: To the Sheriffe of S^t Maries County Greet-
ing. Wee Command yo^u, th^t by the oathes of Twelue good & lawfull
men of yo^r County, yo^u cause to be extended & appraysed the Manno^r
of Westbury, w^ch Will^m Stone Esq^r att Our Prouinciall Court held
the 4^th day of March 1653 att S^t Maries recouered agst Marke
Pheypo, the Attorney of John Hansford, Admistrato^r of Thomas
Weston Deceased, in satisfaction of a Debt of 21600^l Tob & Cask.
And the Extent & Appraysm^t w^ch yo^u shall thereon make cause to
be signifyed to Our Prouinciall Court to be held the 20^th day Aprill
next, Vnder thy Scale, & the Scales of them by whose Oathes the s^d
Inquisition thou shallt make, & haue thou there this writt. Gyuen att
