him, of what is demanded by him of the sd Lewis. But sayth tht he
receauecl a Bill of 2000l Tob. belonging to the sd Lewis, wch was
assigned to him for to receaue att Accomack wch hee there left, &
knoweth not whither it will bee recouered or not.
As to the Indian Slaue I Job Chandler of Portoback in the prou-
ince of Maryland do hereby testify, tht Leiutent Willm Lewis of the
same place for a ualuable Consideraon in hand receiued, was indebted
by Bill unto my Brother Symon Ouerzee an Indian Slaue. Vnto
the wch Bill I the sd Chandler was a wittnes, & had the sd Bill some-
time in my posses" to demand the sd Indian Slaue. And further I
doe testify, tht the sd Slaue was neuer deliuered or receiued: & tht I
know not of any other satisfaction giue" for the sd Slaue. The sd
Bill was dated the 2d of Nouembr 1653. Wittnes my hand this 23th
of August 1658.

Moreoue I the sd Job Chandler doe further testify tht I had the sd
Bill of Leiutent Willm Lewis in my possesn after his death, wth
another Bill for Corne & Tob due from the sd Lewis, & then de-
liuered them both unto my Brother Ouerzee againe, as wittness my
hand 23 August 1658.

Whereas It appeareth tht the Petr hath a Bill of Capt Willm Lewis
for 2000l Tob in his custody or possesn, It is Ordered that the Petr
returning in the sd Bill of Two Thowsand pownds of Tob shall bee
allowed his whole demand amounting to Three Thowsand Two
hundd & Eighty pownds of Tob. & if the sd Bill be not redeliuered
by the Petr then One thowsand Two hundd & Eighty pownds only.
And to be payd proportionably out of the Land to be extended of the
sd Capt Lewis att Nangemy.
