The Examinaon of Christian Bonnefeild taken this 17^th of Sep-
temb^r 1658

Who sayth as shee best remembreth shee was marryed to Rob^t
Holt the Thursday before Candlemas day Jast by Will^m Wilkinson
Parson, That shee had neuer marryed to Robert Holt, but th^t the s^d
Wilkinson sayd, shee & the s^d Holt might lawfully marry, & th^t
diuers times coming to him to know his Opinion in itt, telling him of
her former husband & Roberts Holts former Wife. Hee still told
her shee might mary to any Body by me Philip Caluert

Other Euidences were also made appeare out of the Records by
M^r Attorney. And after some time spent The Jury agreeing, bring
in their Verdict Endorsed on the Writt Bill a Vera for the whole.

The plf sheweth by his Petⁿ how th^t M^r Thomas Mathews assigned
ouer unto him a Bill of the Deft, whereby the deft was engaged to
deliuer att S^t Maries One Cow & calfe before the Tenth of March
1656. W^ch Cow & calfe the deft promised to pay the last spring but
now denyeth to deliuer the calfe unto the plf.
To w^ch the deft sayth th^t That Bill is assigned ouer unto the plf,
w^thout his consent, contrary to an Act of Assembly & therefore
wrongfully sued.
But the Court being satisfyed, th^t the deft assumed to pay that
Cow & Calfe in dispute the last yeare to the plf, att the request of
Thomas Mathews, To whom that Debt was due, & as the deft him-
selfe acknowledgeth. It is ordered th^t the deft pay unto the ptf a
Cow th^t hath not this yeare had a Calfe, & allso a Calfe fallen the last
spring, besides Costs of suite.

The humble Petⁿ of Symon Ouerzee. Sheweth Whereas Cap^t
Will^m Lewis late of Portoback deceased was indebted to yo^r Pet^r
by bill one Indian Slaue 2^d Nouemb^r 1653, allso Eighteene Barrells
of Indian Corne, & one thowsancl powncls of Tob the 2^d Nouemb^r
1653 & noe assetts being left to satisfy the s^d Debts, yo^r Pet^r humbly
prayeth th^t an Extent may issue forth agst his Land, att Nangemy for
paym^t of the s^d Debts w^th forbearance & charges of suite And he shall
pray &c :
The Petⁿ produceth the Bill of the s^d Lewis for the Tob. & Corne
as is demanded in his Petⁿ, But not the Bill for the Indian Slaue.
And the Court desyring to be satisfyed, for th^t this demand is a
Debt of long standing whither the Pet^r hath receiued any Con-
sideraon eyther in part or otherwise in satisfaction of his s^d demand
ffor the clearing of w^ch Symon Ouerzee sworne sayth th^t hee neuer
receaued satisfaction of Cap^t William Lewis nor any assigne from
