into this Province directly from the Place of its Growth

The following Message is sent by Col Hammond

By the Upper house of Assembly 28 April 1736
Gentlemen
Col Ward being appointed One of the Conferees to consider of
the Subject Matter of his Lordships Address to both houses, this
house hath named Cot Hammond to join the Members of your
House in an Enquiry into the State and Condition of the Arms
and Ammunition

Four Engrossed Bills from the Lower house by Mrs. Magruder
and Stoddert One Entituled an Act for continuing an Act of As-
sembly of this Province Entituled an Act to prevent cutting up To-
bacco Plants destroying of Tobacco & Tobacco and for ascertaining
the Punishment of Criminals guilty of the said Offences.
2d An Act for building a publick Goal in Annapolis
3d An Act relating to the placing & building a Prison in Somerset
County

4th An Act enabling the Commrs or Trustees for emitting the
Bills of Credit established by Act of Assembly to pay to the Repre-
sentatives of several Counties the sum of five hundred pounds Each
severally thus subscribed

A Message from the Lower house by Mrs Francis & Key

By the Lower house of Assembly 28 April 1736

This house hath appointed Mr Dulany Col Gale, Mr Key and Mr
Richard Francis to join Michael Howard Esqr in preparing an
Address to the Lord Proprietary concerning the Importation of
European Salt.
