The following Message is sent by Michl Howard Esqr
By the Upper House of Assembly 22 April 1735
Gentlemen
In your Message of this Day by Mrs Hanson & Moale in answer
to Ours relating to the Allowances to be made us as a Council of
State you tell us that you cannot agree to make any such Allowances
without giving us any Reason why and desire We will not insist
upon it a Method of answering our Message very Strange to us
and which Seems to preclude us from reasoning with your House
upon that Head yet considering how long this Session of Assembly
has already continued and being willing rather to Suffer in our
private Interests than to continue the Session longer at the publick
Expence We resolve to forbear any further Dispute about Our
Allowance as a Council of State at this Time & defer it to the next
Session of Assembly
Signed p Order John Ross Ci Up Ho.
