Province such Ordinarie Keepers shall for every such Offence for-
feit & pay ten shift to the Master or Mistress of such Serv* to be
recovered with Costs upon Complaint of the said Master or Mistress
before a Justice of the County where the said Ordinarie Keeper lives
in page 15th line 14th between mony & or put Tobo Page 19th line
Ist between the words shall, & set, insert six months after the publica-
tion of this Act and that the Continuance of this Act be for Seven
Years, an Act of the like nature having heretofore proved very
beneficial to the Inhabitants of this Province and the Want of such a
one mischievous

By the Lower House of Assembly 10th April 1735
May it please your Honours
This House having taken into Consideration the State of the
Officers fees in this Province & conceiving it to be of the greatest
Importance to have them settled by an Act of Assembly & paid in Cur-
rent mony hath appointed Col Gale Mr Key Mr Hammond & Mr

Denton to prepare a Bill for that purpose & desire your Honour (if
you approve of such a bill) will please to appoint some of your House
to join them in preparing the same

A Bill from the Lower House by M" Smith & Sprigg entituled a
Supplementary Act to an Act Entituled an Act laying an Imposi-
tion on Negros & on Several Sorts of Liquors imported as also on
Irish Servants to prevent too great a Number of Irish Papists being
imported into this Province thus Endorsed

Read the first Time & ordered to lye on the Table
