This House met Again According to Adjournment
Present as Yesterday with the Addition of Benj" Tasker Esqr
The following Message being prepared is sent to the Lower House
by Philip Lee Esqr with the Bill Entituled an Act to impower the
Inhabitants of Ann Arundel and Prince Georges Counties to make
the Main Branch of the River Patuxent Navigable &c.

Gentlemen
This House Agrees that the Proviso proposed by your House to the
Bill for making the Main Branch of Patuxent River navigable
above Queen Ann be Added thereto upon inserting a Clause therein.
Saving to the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his Heires
and Successors their Several and respective Rights

Read the Petition of John Welsh High Sheriff of Ann Arundel
County praying that the State of the Publick Goal in Annapolis may
be Considered of by this Assembly, Recommended to the Considera-
tion of the Lower House
Read the Petition of William Parks of the City of Annapolis
Printer praying that the Act of Assembly made Anno 1727 for the
Encouragement of him the said Parks for three years may be
Revived, Recommended to the Consideration of the Lower House.
Read the Petition of several the Inhabitants of Somerset County
praying a Bill may be brought in to Erect a Town near the head of
Monokin in the said County, Referred to the Consideration of the
Lower House; The foregoing Petitions sent by Benjamin Tasker
Esqr
Read the first time the Bill Entituled an Act for preventing of Ex-
cessive and deceitfull Gaming, Ordered to lye on the Table

May it please your Honours
We have Considered the Bill sent down from your house, En-
tituled A Supplementary Act to the Act for the Ordering and regu-
lating the Militia &c. and are Clearly of Opinion that an Act to the
Purpose of that Bill will be a great Security to Us, but apprehend that
several Clauses therein require Amendment and that Additions may
be made to it, much to the Advantage of the Province, and therefore
desire your house will appoint some Members thereof, to Confer with
some of Ours in Relation to it, which Method we hope will not onely
be the means of Greater Dispatch to the Bill; but save the Trouble
