Saturday July the 19th 1729

The House met According to Adjournment. The Members were
Called and all present as Yesterday Except Mr Tolley. The pro-
ceedings of Yesterday were read over.

A Bill Entituled an Act to Prevent the untimely killing of Deer
was brought in from the Committee of Laws and being read the
first and second time by Especial order was passed and was sent to
the Upper House by Collo Belt and Majr Turbutt who return and
Say they Delivered the Same.
The Bill Entituled an Act reviving and Continuing an Act Enti-
tuled an Act Ascertaining the Gauge and Tare of Tobacco Hogs-
heads &c. was read the Second time and Passed and Sent to the
Upper House by Messrs Samuel Hanson & James Hollyday who
return and say they Delivered the same.
The Ingrossed Bill Entituled an Act repealing Part of an Act
Entituled an Act against forging and Counterfeiting of foreign
Coyns Gold or Silver made at a Session of Assembly begun and held
at the Then Town and Port of Annapolis the Twenty Sixth Day of
March Anno Domini 1707 was read and Assented to by this House
and Sent to the Upper House with the paper bill thereof by Majr
Turbutt and Capn Blackistone who return and say they Delivered
the Same.
Edmund Jennings Esqr from the Committee of Laws delivered to
Mr Speaker a bill Entituled an Act for raising a Duty of three Pence
p hogshead on all Tobacco Exported out of this Province for the
Uses therein Mentioned.
The Bill Entituled an Act for the Laying out of Land and Erect-
ing a Town at the Head of Portobacco Creek in Charles County
was read the second time and Passed and Sent to the Upper House
by Majr Hanson and Mr Courts who return and say they Delivered
the same.
The following Message Viz. [The text of this message is printed
at page 323.]

Was sent to the Upper House together with the bill Entituled an
Act for the more Effectual Punishing of Negroes and other Slaves
and for taking away the benefit of Clergy from Certain Offenders
by Messrs Ralph Crabb and George Robins who return and say they
Delivered the same.
The House Adjourns untill 2 of the Clock in the Afternoon

Saturday at 2 of the Clock in the Afternoon

The House met According to Adjournment. The Members were
Called and all Present as in the Morning.
Mr Tolley Appeared in the House this Afternoon.
