By the Lowr House of Assembly June the 6th 1717

May it please your Honrs
On reading your Message by Coll Coursey and Colo Smyth
on the Bill for regulating Ordinaries, We Cannot Concurr
with the Opinion of yor House and therefore have resolved
that the Conference be granted and that Mr Robert Tyler Coll
John Mackall Capt St Lieger Codd Coll James Maxwell Mr
Joseph Hill and Capt Richard Colegate be appointed to Con-
ferr with the Conferrees to be named by your House And
Desire your Honrs will appoint the Time and Place.

Which was accordingly sent to the upper house by the
Above Gent appointed Conferrees.

They return and say they delivered it.
Coll Coursey Esqr Lloyd & Coll Tilghman from the upper
house Deliver Mr Speaker the following Message Viz:

By the uppr house of Assembly June 6th 1717.

Gent. In answer to your Message by Mr Tyler and five
other members of your House We have appointed Colo Wm
Coursey Philemon Lloyd Esqr and Coll Richard Tilghman
three of the members of our House to Conf err with the Gent
menconed in your Message abt the act for regulating Ordi-
naries who are ready to join with you at the house of Mr
John Dodd in the City of Annapolis at Six of Clock this
Evening.

Esqr Hall from the upper House delivers Mr Speaker the
Bill for the Punishment of such as shall Counterfiet the Lord
Proprys greater or lesser Scale at Arms &c. thus endorst Viz.

By the upper House of Assembly June 6th 1717.

This Bill being read in this house it will pass with the
Amendments Proposed Viz: That the Person Convicted of
any the Crimes in this Act mentioned shall be whipt with thirty
nine Lashes stand in the Pillory for Two Hours and be ban-
isht the province for Ever Instead of being punished by hav-
ing both his Ears Cutt off. Signed p Ordr
