and Tare of Tobacco hhds &ca there is to be raised to the Lord
Proprietary for the Support of Government fifteen pence p
hhd for every hhd exported, and whereof Twelve pence p hhd
is to be applyed towards the maintaining the Station And
Dignity of his Lordships Lieutenant Governour, Actually
Inhabiting and residing within the Province, and to such other
uses As his Lordship should adjudge proper; and in Case of
the Death or removall of such Lieutenant Governour from his
Government, the one halfe of the said Twelve pence applyed
to the Support of Government aforesaid that shall arise in
such Vacancy shall be applyed to the Maintainance and Sup-
port of such Persons of his Lordships Councill as his Lordship

by his Instructions to his Lieutenant Governour or otherwise
Shall appoint to preside and to such other Uses as his Lord-
ship thinks meet, & the other half of the said Twelve pence
Towards the Building An House for his Lordships Lieutenant
Governour to Live in as by the said Act is at Large set forth,
our Will now is that Dureing the Absence of the said John
Hart our Lieutenant Governour, the said Twelve pence arise-
ing as Aforesaid, for the Support of our Government shall
be Applyed in the Same manner and to the same Uses as by the
said Act is provided in case of the Death or actuall Removall
of our Lieutenant Governour
4. And whereas by Act of Assembly three pence p hhd is
given you the said John Hart, so long as you shall Continue
Governour in and over the said Province and no Longer, you
may if you are Desirous thereof, Endeavour to prevail with
the Assembly to Continue the said Duty of three pence p hhd
to be Applyed to your own use dureing your Absence out of the
Province untill such time as We shall think fit to Superseede
your Commission, Provided you bring such Act so made Over
with you for our Assent or Dissent thereto if it Can be Con-
veniently Enacted before your Departure.
5. You shall Recommend to the Assembly that we think it
Convenient and necessary that the Duty of three pence p
Tonn upon the Burthen of Ships, and Vessells Trading into
the Province which by Act of Assembly has been Usually paid
unto the Governours for the time being be Continued and ap-
plyed to the better Support and Dignity of such persons of our
Councill who we entrust with the Administration dureing
the absence or on the Death or removall of our Lieutenant
Governour for the time being.
6. You shall either by Proclamation or otherwise Prorogue
the Assembly to Some day in the Month of April which shall
be in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and
