The Lower House. 575


Resolved That Eighteen Members with the Speaker be a
Sufficient number to make an House. The Committees ap-
pointed and Sent out Viz:
For the Comittee of Elections and priviledges Colo John
Mackall, John Rousby Esqr Mr James Lloyd Mr Ralph Crabb
Capt Richard Colegate.
For the Comittee of Laws, James Stoddert Esqr Mr Philip
Lee, Mr James Smith Colo Roger Woollford, Colo John Mack-
all Capt Richard Colegate.
Committe of Agrievances Mr Robert Tyler Capt Daniel
Mariartee Mr Charles Wright Coll Nathaniel Hynson and
Mr Thomas ffisher.
Comitte of Accounts, Mr Joseph Hill Capt St Lieger Codd,
Capt Jno Rider and Mr James Earle.
Ordered that the Severall Clerks of the Severall Comittees
take the Oaths to the Government and Subscribe the Test
According to Act of Assembly and the following oath Viz:

You do Swear that as Clerk to the Committee of
you shall true Entries make of all such matters and things
as by the said Comittee Shall be to you directed The Secretts
of the said Comittee you shall not reveal or divulge to the
Prejudice of any member of the Lower House of Assembly
and shall in all things as Clerk to the said Comitte well and
truely demean your selfe according to the best of your knowl-
edge
So help you God.

The House adjourns till to morrow Morning Eight a Clock.

Thursday morning April 7th 1720
The House meet according to adjournment. Yesterdays
proceedings are read.

The petition of Harman Kinkee and Peter Manadoe pray-
ing Leave to bring in a Bill for their Naturalization was
Read and leave given to bring in a Bill on Qualifying them-
selves according to Law.
James Stoddert Esqr returns a Certificate that the petition-
ers have Quallified themselves According to Law.
Colo Addison from the Upper House Delivers Mr Speaker
the following Message Viz:

By His Excy and the Upper House of Assembly
April the 7th 1720.

We approve your proposalls as to your times of Sitting
Signed p Order
John Beale Cl. Upr Ho.
