Bill for Limitation of officers' fees. Read the first and Sec-

ond time by especial order and will Pass
And sent to the Upper House with the following Message
Viz.

By the Lower House of Assembly June the 5th 1719
May it Please your Honours
You have herewith sent the Bill for the limitation of officers
fees According to the regulation proposed by the Conferrence
Appointed for that purpose, But least it should meet with any
difficulty in being past by his Excellency we propose that An
Address be prepared to his Excellency Setting forth proper
reasons to induce him to Pass the Same, In which we desire
you would be pleased to Joyn.

By Mr Hill and three more. They return and say they
delivered it.
Ordered that Samuel Young Esqr Publick Treasurer of the
Western Shore pay unto the Honourable Nathaniel Blackiston
Esqr one hundred pounds Sterling out of the publick Stock in
his hands for the Sallary as Agent at the expiration of the
year. Engrost Bill for the further Securing the Peace and
Safety of this Province was read and ordered to be thus
Endorst Viz:
June the 5th 1719.
Read and Assented to by the Lower House of Assembly and

p. I37

Signed p Order M. Jenifer Cl. Lo Ho.
And sent to the Upper House by Mr Edmondson and Mr

ffisher.

They return and say they delivered it.
Resolved that if the Committee for laying the Publick Levy
has Occasion to pay off Any Persons to whom tobacco is due
in Money they allow no more than Twelve Shillings & Six
pence p Cent Current money for the same.
Esqr Lloyd from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker the
following Message Viz:

By the Upper House of Assembly June the 5th 1719
Gent.

We Agree that the Allowance due to the Severall Members
and officers of this house for their three days attendance this
