great reason to believe his Excellency the Governour will not
pass a Law so Contrary to his Instructions besides we think
it would be a great Injustice to any Merchant that is or may
happen to be concerned in transporting such Convicts to make
a law to deprive them of the Opportunity of disposing of them
here without giveing a Sufficient time to Apprize them of it, so
that altho we are Very Apprehensive of the Mischiefs that
may ensue upon the Importation of such persons amongst us
yet we cannot consent to the passing this bill under a less
limitation than twelve Months, which we hope will obviate all
difficultys in the Passing of it.

Whereupon the same was past for Engrossing and sent to
the Committee of laws to be Engrost.
[Esqr Hall comes from the Upper House] And Acquaints
Mr Speaker that the bill agt the buying and Selling of offices
and the Supplement relating to Servants and Slaves, and the
Engrost bill for the relief of John Beale And the Engrost bill
for the relief of Severall poor prisoners are read and Assented
to by the Upper House.
On a Motion made Resolved that the members and officers
of this house be Allowed at the rate of twelve Shillings and

Six pence p Cent for their three days attendance more than
allowed them in the Journall of the Committee of Accounts
And ordered the following Message be prepared Viz.

By the Lower House of Assembly June the 5th 1719
May it Please your Honours
This house has agreed that their Severall Members and
officers be allowed at the rate of twelve Shillings and Six
pence Current Money for the three days attendance more than
Allowed in the Journall of the Comittee of accounts this
Assembly and Desire to know whether your Honours will be
willing that the like Allowances be made to the Severall Mem-
bers of your House with which if you Agree the Allowances
may be now made Accordingly.

And sent to the Upper House by Col. Mackall and Mr Cald-
well.
They return and say they delivered it.

The house Adjourns till one a Clock in the afternoon.

On the Petition of Evan Jones leave is given him by this
house to print the laws made this Sessions
