They return & say they delivered it.
An Engrost bill for the relief of John Beale sent to the
Upper House by Capt ffendall and Mr Dent.
They return and say they delivered it.
An Engrost bill against buying of offices &c read and or-
dered to be thus Endorst Viz.

June the 5th 1719.

Sent to the Upper House by Mr Caldwell and Mr Hill.
They return and say they delivered it.
Coll: Tilghman and Coll. Ward from the Upper House
delivered Mr Speaker the following Message Viz:

By the Upper House of Assembly
June the 5th 1719
Gent.

In Answer to your Message by Mr Tyler and four others
this house Agrees that a bill may be brought in limiting the
Severall officers' fees as proposed by the report of the Con-
ferees.

Esqr Hall from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker the
bill for Securing the Peace of this Province against the

Villanies of Imported Convicts with the following Message
Viz:

By the Upper House of Assembly June the 5th 1719.
Gent

We cannot Agree with you in opinion that the bill now
proposed for Secureing the Peace of this Province against
Imported convicts does not relate to trade, because tho it does
not Directly Prohibit the Importation of them, yet It effectu-
ally discourages any persons from buying them, which must

needs be a great detriment to any Merchant who shall under-
take the transportation of Such Convicts. Therefore we have
