By the Upper house of Assembly May 30th 1719.
On hearing John Clements the person in whose favour this
bill is preferred and Likewise On hearing Roger Woollford
and Jno Rider Gent. Commissrs for Dorchester County on
behalf of themselves and the Inhabitants of that County, It
does not Appear that the said Clements has any right to the
land therein menconed but that for he alledges that the evi-
dences who can prove his right are Sick particularly Mr John
Kirk It is thought convenient by this house to deferr it till the
next Sessions of Assembly for their further consideration.

On Motion made that the power of the Justices for the
recovery of Small debts may be advanced to 500ll tobacco,
The Question was put whether it shall be 500ll of tobacco or
Stand as it is.
Carried by the Majority of Votes that it be 500ll.
Then the Question was put whether it shall be 500ll tobacco
or 600ll tobacco
Carried by the Majority of Votes that it be but 500ll.
