The Question was put whether leave shall be given to bring
in a bill as prayed or not.
Carryed in the Negative by the Majority of Votes There-
upon the Petition is rejected.

The house adjourns till to morrow morning Eight a Clock.

Thursday May the 28th 1719
The house meet According to Adjournment.
Yesterdays proceedings are read.
The Question was put whether the Act for regulating the
militia shall be amended or not.

Carryed in the Negative by the Majority of Votes. There-
upon ordered that act be revived for three years and to the end
of the next Sessions of Assembly after the three years.
Bill for the better Supporting the Magistrates in the Ad-
ministration of Justice read with the Amendments Proposed
and past for Engrossing. And sent to the Committee of
Laws to be Engrost.
Bill for relief of Languishing Prisoners read the first time
and ordered a Second reading to morrow morning and in the
meantime to lye on the table for further Consideration.
A Supplementary bill to the Act for the Appointmt of Con-
stables &ca was read the first time and ordered a Second read-
ing in the Afternoon.
Ordered that the Act for the encouraging Tillage and relief
of poor Debtors be revived.
On reading the report of the Committee of Aggrievances
referr'd from last Sessions against the Cutting of Intailes of
Land
Ordered the Committee of Laws Prepare a bill to Prevent
the like for the future. And that Mr Brannock be added to
the Committee on that Occasion
The Petition of Mr Evan Jones relateing to the Post office
is referred till next Sessions.
The house Adjourns till One a Clock in the afternoon.
